Louisiana Revised Statues 37:3500 Rules and Regulations LAC 46: LVII 518

Effective January 1st, 2017 ALL private investigators licensed with the State of Louisiana SHALL be required to complete and PASS an on-line investigative educational instruction course designed and approved by the LSBPIE EVERY TWO YEARS in order to qualify for a license renewal. The approved on-line investigative educational course will be available FREE of charge through the LSBPIE website.

This is mandatory for all private investigators licensed in Louisiana. This will substitute for the continuing education required by the LSBPIE every two years. You may still take any educational class that enhances your profession but the on-line course is still mandatory.

The on-line provider will send all information to the board office where it will be filed. There is no need for anyone to send any information to the LSBPIE Office.

Please note the following:
  1. The start of every test requires the testers First Name, Last Name, Email and BadgeID (Last 4 SSN).
  2. Once a test is started it cannot be stopped. If at any time the test is stopped, the tester will be required to start a new test. There are no limitations as to the number of tests a tester can take.

Please review Louisiana's PILaw before taking the exam.

Please review the attached file for detailed instructions on setting up and taking a test.

***REMINDER***
ALL LOUISIANA LICENSED PRIVATE INVESTIGATORS MUST RENEW THEIR LICENSES ANNUALLY
CONTINUING EDUCATION IS DUE BIENNIALLY, OR EVERY TWO YEARS
