The Louisiana State Board of Private Investigator Examiners has entered into Limited Reciprocity agreements with nine states and Full Reciprocity with two states.

The states that have signed Limited Reciprocity are:
  1. Arkansas
  2. California
  3. Florida
  4. Georgia
  5. North Carolina
  6. Oklahoma
  7. Oregon
  8. Tennessee
  9. Virginia
The states that have signed Full Reciprocity are:
  1. Arkansas
  2. Oklahoma
There are seven states that do not have a private investigator licensing law. They are:
  1. Missouri
  2. South Dakota
  3. Wyoming
  4. Colorado
  5. Mississippi
  6. Alabama
  7. Idaho

This means that a Louisiana licensed private investigator can now follow cases that originated in Louisiana to 16 states and can easily be licensed in two other states.
